Chapter 7A

Arnav and Khushi had been through the beautiful journey of welcoming their child. There were still complications, and Khushi was kept on bed in the beginning of her 8^th month. Arnav was more responsible and caring than ever before. The couple had become very matured in the first year of their marriage and were now expecting their bundle of joy.

“Khushi…” Arnav called out to her while walking in the room holding 2 big teady bears. One blue and the other pink.

“Yaap Arnie…” she peeped her face behind the cushion with a mischief smile.

“Don’t tell me you ate it again…” Arnav rolled his eyes.

“Umm… I kinda finished it…” she showed him the empty container of ice-cream.

“Khushi!” he whined.

This was going on since several months. Khushi’s cravings had no limits. She could be a complete fat ass when it came to food.

Not that she wasn’t before her pregnancy; she was always like that, whether pregnant or not. Her eating habits were the ones that stood out the most from her character.

“It’s not my fault Arnie! Your babies wanted it! So don’t yell at me!” Khushi threw the empty container at his face.

‘God I can’t even scold her now?’ Arnav sighed.

“Ok… I bought another one anyways… you want that one too?” he asked her teasingly.

“You’re making fun of me right?” she looked at him with deathly looks.

“No… I was thinking that you should eat that one too if your cravings aren’t over yet…”

“Arnie… I’m giving you 5 seconds to get out of this room before I tackle you down!” she said with anger

“Ha! You can’t even touch me with that huge belly of yours stupid…”

And Arnav didn’t know what situation he had put himself in.

“5, 4, 3, 2, 1!” and there Arnav had felt mostly everything that belonged in his room.

“Khushi please…” he pleaded her.

“Arnie! You promised and I ordered you a month ago!” Khushi passed him the weights which were placed in a bag. It had a belt attached to place it around the waist. But Arnav was going to place it on his stomach to experience the same pain his pregnant wife was.

“Khushi you’re only in your 8^th month yaar…” he whined.

“Shutup! There’s a week left till my 9^th month starts so just shush!” she asked Payal to hand it over to him.

Arnav looked at Payal pleadingly, and she simply gave him a helpless look, telling him that maybe she might have to wear it as well if she spoke in favour of Arnav.

“Khushi…”

“Arnie…”

“Please…” he begged her for mercy.

“Wear. It. Now!” she pointed her index finger at him.

He shuddered and then hooked the weight belt around his stomach.

Payal and Akash had heard him wince in pain, and they clearly saw how he bit his lip from expressing the pain he was going through.

“Khushi… I really think Arnav shouldn’t…” and Akash was left to be silent when Khushi looked at him and asked him whether she should order another one for him as well.

“Uhh… ok Khushi… I think we better be going now…” he gestured Payal to come with him. And while leaving he could sense that Arnav was probably cursing him for leaving him in that condition. But what to do? After all, Akash didn’t want to die of carrying those weights either. He was scared of the fact that the weights weren’t just of one child, but 2 since Khushi was having twins. The thought of it made him want to faint.

“Khushi how long do I have to wear this?” Arnav asked her as he approached the bed.

“You could take it off now…” she said while devouring the ice cream tub.

Arnav genuinely watched her as she moaned, letting the chocolaty ice cream melt in her mouth and make its way down to her stomach to their babies.

The thought of them reminded him to finally start a conversation with them… to get to know them well…

Arnav climbed up on the bed and moved towards Khushi with a smile on his face, and Khushi looked at him and moved back.

She could sense the naughtiness in his eyes, and she stuttered, “Ar…n…ie…”

Saying this she continued eating ice cream and moving back against the header while he kept moving forward.

As their faces were only inches apart, Khushi felt that she was going to have a very long and passionate lip lock with Arnav, but she was wrong.

As she felt their lips were going to meet… Arnav naughtily moved down towards her humongous belly and lifted up her navy blue shirt. Khushi looked down at him in shock, and he simply smirked, knowing what she must of thought was coming.

“I was thinking that it’s high time I should start talking to my kids now don’t you think…”

Khushi looked at him all confused. She put the tub of ice cream away and cupped his face.

“What’s wrong?” she asked him.

“Now don’t start crying… I just wanted them to know their dad a bit more… so I just wanted to…” and by now she was crying.

“Hey… Khushi… why you crying? You don’t want me to talk to them?” he asked all worried.

“No no… I do… I do want you to talk to them… it’s just that today you actually said that you want to talk to them… otherwise I would always ask you to talk to them…"
